Basic hardware requirements are 150Mb free disk-space, and 256Mb RAM on a system that can handle an HTTPD server.

A number of operating systems have been approved for use with DiGIR which include: Solaris, Linux RedHat - 7.3, 8, 9, Core Enterprise Editions, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

A broadband Internet connection.

Use of a fully qualified domain name for the web server is preferred, however alternatives will work.

The HTTPD server itself can be either Apache or IIS. Either server choice must have a PHP interpreter activated (4.2.3 <= PHP_version < 5.0).

A data base containing observation data. DiGIR has demonstrated inter-operability with Oracle, MySQL,  MS-SQL Server, PostgreSQL,  and MS-Access.
